All It's Cracked Up To Be

A few thoughts on seeing the beauty found in the cracks and flaws of life.

Recently I was talking with a couple of artist friends about the beauty that is all around us if we just take the time to see it. Time and willingness to actually see not just look. They were complaining about all the rain and how dirty everything was. When I said that to the contrary this time of year brings so many amazing colours and textures to life they gave me that usual look of incredulity.

Looking is easy and most people do it all the time but seeing is harder. Seeing takes the courage and strength to put down ones prejudices, fears, and let go of expectations. Seeing is done by following one's own curiosity and being willing to be honest with ones self.

Here are a few images exploring and celebrating the beauty found in the flaws that are all around us… if we allow ourselves to see it.
